DESCRIPTION:
Frida Kahlo is one of the most famous and well-known painters from Mexico. Born in Spain, Frida Kahlo lived for most of her life in New York City, but she moved to Cuba and worked in the rural areas there. She finally ended up working in Paris as a writer, but it was not until she was thirty that she began to paint professionally. The paintings that she produced during this time period are some of her best works to this day.
Throughout her career Frida Kahlo showed a distinct understanding of gender roles. Her paintings featured mostly women, although she did occasionally feature men or children in her art. It seems that she thought more about the human subject than anything else and this came through in her work, as she was able to translate her feelings into the form of an artful creation.
In recent years Frida has attempted to keep her artwork and paintings in print. Although her art has always been highly popular, there was a time when she did not get the success that she had hoped for. One of her paintings in particular did not sell very well, so she did not continue to work on it either. This led her to concentrate more on producing other types of work and she has now produced several major paintings that have all been received well. If you would like to add Frida Kahlo prints to your decor, you will probably find that there are a few websites online that sell original art by this famous artist.
